– – Rak Buku Media and Bushi Bros Films have officially started production of their latest film entitled ROHTRIP. This film is scheduled to be released on the big screen soon and presents a horror story packaged with comedic elements, offering a different experience for Indonesian movie enthusiasts.
ROHTRIP tells the story of six friends from Yogyakarta traveling to Jakarta, which turns into a terrifying experience as they are haunted by supernatural beings along the way. The story idea originated from a real horror experience experienced by one of the producers.
“The first time I heard the story idea of ROHTRIP, it was when we were hanging out together, namely myself, Ardi (Producer), Tata (Screenwriter), Dicky (Director). We discussed the horror experience of a friend who was possessed in the car and how chaotic it was at that time,” said Cornelio Sunny, the producer of this film, in Yogyakarta, Sunday (27/4/2025).
1. Involve a Series of Well-Known Actors and Actresses
Cornelio also added that this idea evolved into a story about friendship facing terror from the perspective of each character.
“From just a story of hanging out experiences, this idea evolved into a film that we believe will make prospective viewers laugh and be entertained,” he said.
This film involves a talented cast such as Ratu Sofya, Gabriella Ekaputri, Cornelio Sunny, and comedian Arif Didu. Other names who also participated are Marella Mulwanto, Alif Rivelino, Hanief Boyratan, and Regina Suhari, promising a combination of excellent and entertaining acting.
2. New Spirit
The filming process began on April 13 at various locations in Yogyakarta and is scheduled to be completed in early May 2025. This film also collaborates with Dicky R. Maland as the director, who was previously known as the Director of Photography for several box office films such as Vina: Sebelum 7 Hari, Comic 8, and Indigo.
Cornelio, who has previous experience as an actor, believes that this collaboration brings a new spirit to the film industry.
“We believe that this fresh story and visual execution will provide a different experience for the audience,” he said.
With an interesting story and a lineup of talented stars, ROHTRIP is expected to seamlessly combine horror and comedy elements. This film is one of the productions to look forward to in 2025.
